The Bible says; God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)

Here is a promise given by God to his "children by faith" (Galatians 3:26). When the storms of life rage down upon us, we have a person who will be our refuge and place of protection. That person's name is Jesus. He is the Saviour of the world, offering help in this life now now and the gift of eternal life for all of eternity! This offer is for those who would put their faith and trust in him.

The Bible says; Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved...(Acts 16:31). When Jesus is our Saviour, and God is our Father, he says that he will be a very present help in trouble. When Jesus was here on earth he told those around him that in the world we would have tribulation (trials and troubles), but he also said that we should be of good cheer for he has overcome the world (John 16:33).

If you are a child of God by faith in Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:26) you have the Holy Ghost residing in you. When Jesus was here he said that he would have to leave earth behind, but that he would send us another Comforter, the Holy Ghost (John 14:25-27). This is how God could say that he would be a very present help in trouble; for the Holy Ghost never leaves us. And so God could say;...I will never leave you, nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5)

So, if you need help today, if you need strength today...if you need a place of refuge today, call upon Jesus Christ, the lover of your soul.

If you have never trusted Jesus Christ as your Saviour, you can do that right now. Bow your head in humbleness and ask him to your Lord and Saviour.

Blessings

The King in his Beauty

This is my first article to be published under this new Blog. The title for the article and the Blogspot itself is taken from Isaiah 33:17; "Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off". Historically this was a promise by God that he would deliver Israel from the Assyrian invasion. You can read about this historical account in 2 Kings 19.

But this verse has come to be a great statement of comfort to me over the years. Let's break it down iby way of application for each of us:

Thine Eyes

Everything about God is personal. He is not in Heaven, unreachable. When Jesus came to earth from Heaven he was God in the flesh, and all eyes could literally behold him. Today, he has left us with his Spirit; the Comforter, or Holy Ghost.

The Holy Ghost is the third person of the Godhead (Trinity).Your (spiritual) "eyes" (of faith) can behold Jesus today as the Holy Ghost reveals him to you in the Holy King James Bible. He invites you to search the Scriptures with your own eyes and behold the King in his beauty. I would suggest a slow reading of the Gospel of John to begin with. When a person receives the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ by faith, the Holy Ghost takes up residence in that person's life. He invites every one of us to a personal ("thine eyes") relationship with him through faith. The Bible says; "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved...(Acts 16:3).

Shall See

There is coming a day when Jesus will return to earth the Second time. At that time the Holy Bible says; "every eye shall see him" (Revelation 1:7). It will be at this time in the future that Jesus returns to the earth as the great King of Kings (Revelation 19). He will triumphantly destroy the evil forces that had for so long forsaken, and even opposed, his message of forgiveness. His message was revealed on the cross of Calvary 2000 years ago as Jesus bled and died for the sins of the whole world.

The King in his Beauty

When Jesus was here the first time he fulfilled the Father's office of Prophet. Today, in Heaven, he sits fulfilling the office of High Priest, making intercession before the Father for his earthly children of faith. When he returns the second time he will fulfill God's office of King. He will rule in the beauty of holiness (Psalm 96:9)

Concluding Remarks

Jesus Christ is coming back to earth in the (near) future. Are you ready to meet him? If he does not return soon you will still meet him one day at the Great White Throne of Judgment found in Revelation 20. So, I ask again, are you ready to meet your Creator, Jesus Christ? It is the most serious question that can be put forth.

If you have put your trust in Jesus Christ and his Gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) then you are indeed ready to meet him. If not, you are not ready...but could be right now. Reach out to God by faith and Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for your salvation. Do it today...you will never regret that decision!
