The Bible says; God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)
Here is a promise given by God to his "children by faith" (Galatians 3:26). When the storms of life rage down upon us, we have a person who will be our refuge and place of protection. That person's name is Jesus. He is the Saviour of the world, offering help in this life now now and the gift of eternal life for all of eternity! This offer is for those who would put their faith and trust in him.
The Bible says; Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved...(Acts 16:31). When Jesus is our Saviour, and God is our Father, he says that he will be a very present help in trouble. When Jesus was here on earth he told those around him that in the world we would have tribulation (trials and troubles), but he also said that we should be of good cheer for he has overcome the world (John 16:33).
If you are a child of God by faith in Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:26) you have the Holy Ghost residing in you. When Jesus was here he said that he would have to leave earth behind, but that he would send us another Comforter, the Holy Ghost (John 14:25-27). This is how God could say that he would be a very present help in trouble; for the Holy Ghost never leaves us. And so God could say;...I will never leave you, nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).
So, if you need help today, if you need strength today...if you need a place of refuge today, call upon Jesus Christ, the lover of your soul.
If you have never trusted Jesus Christ as your Saviour, you can do that right now. Bow your head in humbleness and ask him to your Lord and Saviour.
Blessings
